Silent Stagnation

My heart stares harrowingly
Into what?
The air around me becomes cold, deserted, definitely, daringly
Alone.

I didn't brush my teeth this morning. The slick slimey residue clings onto the coffee stained teeth in my mouth
Hot and sickly like you haven't showered in a few days
The breath licks past the back of my mouth, and the cloud hangs just beyond my lips
and I whisper
"Your silence startles me"

Your memory hangs in my mind,
Your touch lingers on my skin,
Your absence sinks in my bed

Jesus christ
I wail in disbelief
Of all the empty space you've left and you will never return to.
My existence remains in silent stagnation.
